Our Assistant Housekeeping Manager is a very hands-on position, leading daily room inspections and supporting staff as needed each day in both the housekeeping and laundry areas. The Assistant Housekeeping Manager reports directly to our Housekeeping Director and works closely with our front desk, General Manager, Assistant General Manager and other managers to ensure guests have a great experience with us.  The right candidate has experience following standardized methods and processes that allow our housekeepers to efficiently clean rooms and provide guests with an excellent housekeeping experience. The right candidate is also interested in supporting a positive staff environment and fostering a staff that is warm, personable and extremely helpful to our guests. The Assistant Housekeeping Manager coordinates staff work-plans, priorities, and works hands-on each day to prepare rooms and laundry for guests. They also maintain standards and maintain quality control for the Housekeeping Department and help develop daily and periodic cleaning schedules and priorities. This person also maintains and orders departmental supplies and inventories.  The Assistant Housekeeping Manager is a key part of the team and consistently interacts with and assists Lodge guests. The widespread nature of our property presents the Assistant Housekeeping Manager with challenging logistics but also presents a great opportunity to enjoy the outdoors and our beautiful setting. QualificationsYou’ll thrive in this role if you: Enjoy helping guests and creating a welcoming environment Are reliable, detail-oriented and organized Can balance multiple tasks while maintaining cleanliness and safety standards Work well independently and as part of a supportive team KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Train staff in cleaning procedures, timeliness, and chemical usage Assist with managing schedules, time off requests, attendance of all housekeeping staff Assist with supply ordering as needed Ensure rooms and public areas are cleaned and ready for all functions and time deadlines Assist with cleaning guest rooms, public lobbies, restrooms, and other guest areas as assigned Maintain cleanliness of housekeeping vacuums, closets, storage areas, and other equipment Handle guest complaints concerning housekeeping service or refers problem to managers Inspect all rooms after they have been cleaned to ensure that all lodge policies and standards have met and a room is guest ready Assists housekeepers with daily housekeeping as needed to meet the 4pm check-in deadline including stripping rooms, making beds, porting for the housekeepers, etc. Stay on top of trash and dirty linen and get it to the appropriate place Comply with housekeeping policies and procedures Assist with other lodge needs as the need arises from time to time Communicate professionally at all times with all staff and management Support team members and interns while fostering a positive work environment Work safely, address/report safety issues, and use proper personal protective equipment Comply with work shift schedules and break requirements Perform other duties as assigned, including additional lodge support as needed EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE High School Diploma or GED; college degree a plus Minimum one-year prior work experience in Housekeeping leadership; hotel/hospitality preferred Experience successfully living/working in rural/remote environment preferred COMPETENCIES/REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES  Strong guest service and hospitality focus Able to train, re-train, and motivate housekeeping daily staff Reliable, dependable and punctual Exceptionally high attention to detail Capable of self-supervision Able to follow written and verbal instructions in a timely, concise manner Works well as part of a team and supports others Detail-oriented with good organizational skills Follows company policies, procedures and safety standards Adheres to food handling and sanitation requirements Communicates appropriately, supportively and professionally Adaptable, takes initiative, and able to multitask and troubleshoot in a fast-paced setting Demonstrates good judgment, integrity, honesty and professionalism Positive attitude and willingness to learn and grow Leading a healthy, balanced, drug-free lifestyle WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical environment requires employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions, and to adhere to departmental uniform standards Frequent walking, twisting, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, sitting, climbing stairs Ability to stand and move continuously Lifting up to 50 pounds and moving carts weighing 300 pounds Working with required chemicals and PPE Shifts of up to 8 hours per day, plus periodic additional overtime hours and help covering additional shifts when needed NOTE We are an equal opportunity employer and extremely proud of our highly diverse team and embrace diversity at all levels of the organization.
