Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Billing Rep, you serve as a resource to CARE Clinic physicians, nurses, medical assistants, managers, and clinic staff in all insurance related issues. 

 

Every day you will be responsible for the day-to-day billing operations.review and process patient accounts, insurance claims, and payment postings. You will be expected to ensure accurate and timely billing, follow up on denied claims, and maintain patient confidentiality.

 

To be successful in this role, you must have strong attention to detail, knowledge of medical billing and coding, and experience with healthcare insurance.

  • Responsible for inputting charges for each office visit and procedures on a daily basis. Transmits charges on a daily basis. Completes all edits identified by clearinghouse
  • Responsible for printing and mailing all paper claims and responsible to prepare, print and mail patient statements on a daily basis
  • Responsible to support the importance of accurate, complete and consistent billing practices for the production of quality healthcare data.
  • Responsible for posting all insurance and patient payments and responsible for researching and rebilling all denied and unpaid claims in a timely fashion
  • Maintains patient financial chart ensuring patient insurance and income is accurate and responsible to audit patient charts.
  • Enters all MediCal Waiver Program charges.

Job Requirements

Required

  • Minimum of two years job-related experience
  • Knowledge of Medicare and Medical compliance and documentation standards for billing, CPT and ICD-9 coding, including Physician Guidelines, medical terminology, anatomy and disease processes; demonstrable ability to use these to make sound coding choices.

Preferred

  • Associates Other Two-year college degree
  • Certified Coding Specialist - Physician Based
