Salary Range: $90,000 - $120,000 + (dependent on experience). This role is also eligible for an annual performance‑based bonus. Bonus eligibility and payout are determined by role, individual performance, and company performance, and are not guaranteed.

P2S Commissioning (Cx) is a rapidly growing team focused on delivering high-performance building systems across the built environment. We are looking for a Commissioning Technician with a strong technical foundation, a hands-on approach, and an interest in helping advance the growing field of building commissioning.
This role is ideal for someone who understands building systems design and functionality and enjoys identifying opportunities to improve system operations and maintainability. P2S Cx provides ongoing education and training to keep team members current on industry trends, code requirements, new products, commissioning standards, and best practices.
Responsibilities
- Perform design reviews of drawings, specifications, and submittals to ensure alignment with Owner Project Requirements (OPR) and Basis of Design (BOD)
- Develop commissioning plans, pre-functional checklists, and functional performance test procedures
- Identify, document, and track issues throughout all project phases and support resolution
- Execute and oversee onsite functional performance testing of building systems while working with MEP trades
- Attend commissioning coordination meetings with owners, engineers, general contractors, subcontractors, and facilities personnel
- Prepare clear, organized reports summarizing project progress, test results, and system performance
- Support owner training and documentation of systems and operations
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- CxT (ACG) or ACP (BCA) certification preferred
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required
- Ability to travel up to 40%
- 3+ years of experience in mechanical design for commercial buildings
- Working knowledge of building systems, including:
- HVAC – Airside and Water Side
- Central Utility Plants
- Plumbing/Piping
- Electrical systems – Power and Lighting
- Fire protection
- Controls and instrumentation
Preferred Qualifications
- Commissioning and retro-commissioning experience
- Experience working within a consulting engineering environment
- Strong client-facing experience
Working Knowledge
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a mechanical design engineer working with a consulting engineering firm designing mechanical systems for facilities or buildings
- Ability to communicate effectively with people through oral presentations and written communications
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with supervision and support from a commissioning agent
- Ability to work well under pressure while managing and prioritizing multiple projects
- Strong organizational skills, detail-oriented, creative, self-motivated, and enthusiastic
- Strong interpersonal skills and experience in maintaining strong client relationships are required
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
