GENERAL STATEMENT

We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an entry-level Graphic Designer. The ideal candidate will have proficiency in Adobe Suite programs and a passion for design. This role involves collaborating with clients, assisting in the production of physical assets, providing exceptional Customer service, and supporting various graphic design and office tasks as needed. Additionally, the candidate will assist the Senior Graphic Designer in prepress checks and special projects, ensuring the highest quality standards are met.This includes applied work in typesetting, illustration, paste-up, camera work, design and layout, copy writing, project tracking, and management.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Graphic Design: Utilize Adobe Suite programs to create visually appealing designs for a variety of projects, including digital and print media.
  2. Client Collaboration: Work closely with clients to understand their design needs and preferences, offering creative solutions and maintaining clear communication throughout the design process.
  3. Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by addressing client inquiries, feedback, and revisions in a timely and professional manner.
  4. Team Support: Assist other team members with graphic design tasks and office duties to ensure smooth project workflow and completion.
  5. Project Management: Maintain project statuses and deadlines, ensuring that all design projects are completed on time and within budget.
  6. File Organization: Properly organize and backup graphic projects to ensure efficient file management and easy access to assets.
  7. Pre-press Checks: Assist the Senior Graphic Designer in conducting pre-press checks to ensure print-ready files meet quality standards and specifications.
  8. Special Projects: Collaborate with the Senior Graphic Designer on special projects, such as marketing campaigns or promotional materials, contributing creative ideas and executing designs with precision.
  9. Adaptability: Be willing to take on additional duties and responsibilities as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and a proactive attitude towards learning and growth.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

 

Education and/or Experience

A minimum of one-year job-related experience required. Graphic Design, Illustration, UI/UX Design majors preferred. Concurrent enrollment at CSULB in 6 or more units.  

 

Knowledge and Abilities

  • Proficiency in Adobe Suite programs, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively collaborate with clients and team members.
  • Attention to detail and a keen eye for design aesthetics.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic knowledge of pre-press processes and print production is a plus.

A portfolio will be required at interview.
