Position Description:

The Parts Inspector is responsible for reviewing all incoming components and materials, CNC/Milled or machined. The Parts Inspector inspects, tests, and approves incoming components and materials to ensure that they conform to Engineering drawings and specifications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Utilize measurement tools including but not limited to calipers, thread gauges, micrometers, surface gauges, to accurately check dimensions of components
Interpret Engineering drawings, record measurements, and confirm all dimensions conform to the drawing specifications
Identify, record, and document any discrepancies between measured dimensions and drawing dimensions
Notify Engineering and present discrepancy reports detailing any non-conformities
Use Electrical Testing Equipment such as a Hi-Pot or Megohmmeter to verify conformance of insulation materials to specifications
Clean, maintain, calibrate, or repair measuring instruments or test equipment, such as dial indicators, fixed gauges, or height gauges
Maintain meticulous records of all inspection reports, documents, and logs
Improve the Inspections Department by identifying inefficiencies, proposing tooling upgrades, and streamlining processes

Requirements:

Strong attention to detail
Proficient with measuring tools
Ability to interpret technical engineering drawings
Strong mechanical aptitude - able to identify nonconformities or defects due to the manufacturing process
Technical knowledge
Analytical ability to streamline processes to increase efficiency
Experience using AQL sampling systems (preferred)
Experience using a CMM or Optical Comparator (preferred)
Experience using electrical testing equipment
