Overview:
This role is essential in ensuring the correct materials are received on time to meet customer demand and maintain inventory levels. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing procurement processes by projecting and planning for both production products and raw materials. This position requires negotiation skills, an understanding of procurement management, and the manufacturing process.
This position is required to maintain a healthy inventory level, working tightly with vendors for highest quality with best cost available.
Responsibilities:
- Consult catalogs and other references to obtain prices and specifications.
- Maintain files and records of materials, prices, inventories and deliveries.
- Perform related clerical duties.
- May contact vendors and suppliers for quotations, and follow up on outstanding purchase orders.
- Plan weekly team communication and meetings for demand changes; expedite and adjust orders to support on-time delivery.
- Coordinate with production and warehouse teams to prevent material shortages or production delays.
- Evaluate supplier performance, including quality, pricing, delivery reliability, and responsiveness.
- Work with suppliers to resolve issues involving damaged, incorrect, defective, or late shipments.
- Coordinate with accounting to ensure invoices, purchase orders, and receiving documents are properly matched.
- Support cost-reduction initiatives and identify opportunities for improved purchasing efficiency.
- Data entry and processing. Perform other purchasing and procurement duties as assigned.
- Purchase order entry.
- Submitting and processing RFQ’s.
- Request PO confirmations and process updates.
- Process and update tracking information.
- Update inventory bin location changes.
- Follow up with vendors for delivery follow ups.
- Process logistics requests in the internal system.
Qualifications:
- Handles basic issues and problems, and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.
- Strong communication and relationship management

Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, supply chain, inventory management, or a related field
- Proven negotiation skills with a strong understanding of cost structures and pricing
- Required experience using ERP systems or inventory management software
- Solid knowledge of production timelines and factory processes
- Excellent organizational, follow-up, and project management skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with tight deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, etc.)
- High attention to detail and strong analytical skills
