Position Summary

Neill Aircraft Company is seeking a Sheet Metal Hand Former / Check & Straightener to join our aerospace manufacturing team. This position is responsible for hand-forming, checking, straightening, and shaping sheet metal components in accordance with work instructions, blueprints, and quality requirements. The ideal candidate has experience working with aerospace sheet metal parts, hand tools, and measuring equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Form, check, and straighten metal parts according to work instructions and specifications.
  • Use hand tools, shrinking/stretching equipment, jigs, fixtures, and shop aids to shape and flatten metal components.
  • Read and follow work instructions, blueprints, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Verify that correct materials and quantities have been issued and that prior operations have been completed.
  • Use measuring tolls and inspection equipment to ensure dimensional requirements are met.
  • Accurately clock labor and job activity in the Epicor MRP system.
  • Assist with preventive maintenance activities as required.
  • Maintain productivity in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.

Qualifications

  • Previous sheet metal experience in aerospace manufacturing or related industry preferred.
  • Ability to read basic blueprints and works instructions.
  • Experience using hand tools and measuring equipment.
  • Familiarity with AS9100 standards is a plus
  • Basic computer skills.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.

Physical Requirements

This position requires standing for extended periods, frequent use of hands and arms, and the ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally. Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with moving equipment and moderate to high noise levels.
