Senior Warehouse Associate
Position Summary
The Warehouse Associate is responsible for supporting daily warehouse operations by coordinating inbound and outbound shipments, maintaining accurate shipping documentation, operating material handling equipment, and providing excellent customer service. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while ensuring the safe and efficient movement of materials.
Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare, review, and process Bills of Lading (BOLs) and other shipping and receiving documentation.
  • Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments to ensure timely deliveries and pickups.
  • Schedule freight appointments with carriers, customers, and internal departments.
  • Communicate professionally with customers regarding shipment status, scheduling, and order inquiries.
  • Reconcile shipping and receiving documents to verify product quantities, identify discrepancies, and ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Safely operate both stand-up and sit-down forklifts to load, unload, transport, and stage materials throughout the warehouse.
  • Operate additional material handling equipment as needed.
  • Inspect incoming and outgoing shipments for accuracy and report any damage, shortages, or discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records using warehouse management systems or ERP software.
  • Follow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and safe forklift operating procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
  • Assist with cycle counts, inventory audits, and other warehouse duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Computer Oriented
  • Previous warehouse, shipping, receiving, or logistics experience.
  • Proven experience operating both stand-up and sit-down forklifts is required.
  • Current forklift certification is preferred or the ability to obtain certification if required by company policy.
  • Experience preparing Bills of Lading and shipping documentation.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and warehouse management or ERP systems.
  • Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the workday.
  • Ability to safely operate stand-up and sit-down forklifts and other warehouse equipment.
  • Ability to work in varying warehouse temperatures and conditions.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with inventory control and cycle counting.
  • Knowledge of shipping, receiving, and warehouse operations.
  • Familiarity with ERP or warehouse management systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy.
