Our 24/7 staff cultivates Sage’s intimate lifestyle. Role Summary The Onsite Building Engineer is responsible for building systems and their maintenance, operation, and repair. They ensure facilities operate safely, efficiently, and compliantly. Responsibilities Plan and implement the work of the maintenance department Manage procurement and inventory of all maintenance and pool supplies, including parts and chemicals, coordinating purchases with the Community Director as needed Oversee all room set-ups Report maintenance activities, recommendations, and updates regularly to the Community Director, including weekly summaries and suggested improvements Ensure Clubhouse areas comply with cleanliness, safety, and regulatory standards, including OSHA, Fire, and Health Department requirements Train, supervise, and coordinate daily activities of maintenance staff, including providing coverage as needed Oversee and perform preventive and corrective maintenance for all clubhouse equipment and facilities, including fire protection systems, mechanical tasks, and coordination with vendors and service providers Maintain accurate records of maintenance costs and materials, and develop and manage the annual maintenance budget Remain available on an "on-call" basis for emergency situations Attend Board Executive and HOA Board meetings to provide updates on maintenance projects and related issues Disclaimer This description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of duties. Qualifications Full working knowledge of AC Maintenance, Gas Water Heater Services, and Irrigation of Grounds Servicing and Programming Pool maintenance certification Must be able to speak, read, and write English Spanish-speaking skills are a plus Excellent people skills: well-spoken and professional Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment Must be well-organized and able to multitask Must be a proficient problem solver Must know how to use tools, supplies, materials, and chemicals in a manner that does not endanger oneself, others, the environment, or the public Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday. Ability to climb stairs, ladders, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, or reach frequently. Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull objects up to 50 pounds regularly and occasionally heavier with assistance. Manual dexterity to operate tools, equipment, and machinery safely. Visual acuity to inspect equipment, read gauges, and perform detailed tasks. Hearing ability to detect alarms, equipment sounds, and verbal instructions in noisy environments. Ability to work in varying environmental conditions (heat, cold, dust, noise, outdoors). Ability to wear and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). Ability to work varying schedules, including evenings, weekends, on-call, and overtime as required.
