Job DetailsJob Location: Longmont, CO 80503Salary Range: $20.81 - $28.09 HourlyTravel Percentage: NoneJob Category: Health CareJob Summary Responsibilities of the Shahbazim include care of the Edlers’ and the Elders’ environment, including but not limited to Certified Nursing Assistant duties (C.N.A.), as well as cooking, laundry, and housekeeping. CNAs may also take on additional responsibilities as a Care Coordinator to assist in the teams’ overall success. Additional responsibilities of a Guide role are included in the Addendums attached to assist in higher accountability within the team.   Accountabilities 1. General a) Model the Culture Change Principles of the Eden Alternative. b) Understand and adhere to Resident Confidentiality and HIPPA regulations. c) Attend in-service training, educational classes, and meetings as required. d) Read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos. e) Communicate and function in an interdisciplinary team. f) Maintain a thorough working knowledge of Community Electronic Health Record software. g) Maintain a thorough working knowledge of Community policies and procedures. h) Solve basic mathematical procedures. i) Maintain the highest degree of personal and professional integrity. j) Know and honor Resident Rights. k) Communicate with residents in a respectful manner. l) Respond to resident family/visitor requests in a timely and appropriate manner. m) Make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action. n) Provide effective and courteous service to all residents, guests and co-workers. 2. Resident Care a) Recognize and respond to the needs of Elders. b) Promote autonomy of Elders in decision making. c) Maintain confidentiality and privacy of Elder care, procedures, and documentation. d) Communicate with co-workers at all levels to meet the needs of Elders. e) Observe, monitor, and report to the Nurse any change in condition. f) Document observed data per organization policy. g) Assist Elders with personal care functions. h) Assist Elders with and/or perform restorative and rehabilitative procedures as outlined and assigned by the care plan and with appropriate training. i) Measure and record vital signs such as temperature, pulse, respiration, weight, height, and anatomical dimension/circumference. j) Assist moving, positioning, and transporting elders into and out of beds, chairs, bathtubs, wheelchairs, lifts, etc. k) Assist with the application of slings, elastic bandages, binders, etc. l) Prepare and serve meals, between meal, bedtime and other nutritional snacks per the posted menu and the stated preferences of the Elders. m) Keep all areas of the home clean, performing routine housekeeping duties. n) Make occupied and unoccupied beds and change bed linens. o) Launder clothing, linen and other articles. p) Report accidents and incidents when they occur. q) Perform other related duties as required by the elder. r) Attend team meetings. s) Attend and participate in Elder care conferences providing observations, achievements and concerns about Elder in your care. 3. Other Duties/Responsibilities a) Maintain cleanliness of resident’s room including daily cleaning, deep cleaning as required, and discharge cleaning. b) Assist Resident with care and handling of personal laundry. c) Assist with dining including setting/cleaning tables, meal delivery [if necessary], serving meals, and washing dishes. d) Provide information, encourage, and participate with residents in activity focused programs. 4. Physical Demands/Working Conditions a) Able to sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, and move frequently during working hours. b) Able to lift 40 lbs. floor to waist, lift 10 lbs. waist to shoulder, lift and carry 40 lbs., and push/pull 40 lbs. c) Able to assist in the evacuation of residents.   Benefits Health Dental Vision PTO/Sick Leave Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) & Temporary Expanded PSLF (TEPSLF) 401K Retirement Plan with company match up to 3%.
