Job DetailsJob Location: Longmont, CO 80503Position Type: Part TimeSalary Range: $20.22 - $23.38 HourlyJob Summary Perform duties as a cook, dishwasher and any other tasks needed in the kitchen at the Assisted Living. This position is intended to perform tasks usually done by cooks and to cover when the dishwasher is not scheduled. This position may also be used to cover at the Independent Living when needed. Accountabilities 1. General a) Model the Culture Change Principles of the Eden Alternative. b) Attend in-service training, educational classes, and meetings as required. c) Read and comprehend instructions, correspondence and memos. d) Communicate and function in an interdisciplinary team. e) Maintain a thorough working knowledge of Community policies and procedures. f) Solve basic mathematical procedures. g) Maintain the highest degree of personal and professional integrity. h) Know and honor Resident Rights. i) Communicate with residents in a respectful manner. j) Respond to resident family/visitor requests in a timely and appropriate manner. k) Make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action. l) Provide effective and courteous service to all residents, guests and co-workers. 2. Resident Care a) Demonstrate knowledge of infection control and universal precautions. b) Prepare and serve meals that are both appetizing in taste and appearance, and appropriate for each resident. 3. Other Duties/Responsibilities a) Understand and utilize various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling etc.) b) Prepares meals meeting nutritional requirements as well as appetizing in appearance. c) Working with the culinary team to provide the best customer dining experience. d) Bus the tables accordingly before, during, and after the meal is served. e) General vacuuming, washing, stocking, and moving products for service and/or cleaning. f) Assists in preparation of special meals and for special events. g) To contribute to and attend all training sessions and/or team meetings as required. h) To ensure that a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness is maintained throughout each shift. i) To be aware of your responsibilities with respect to health and safety codes. j) Reporting any accident or health risk to the dining director immediately. k) Communicate with the dining director regarding any problems with equipment, stocked products, residents, or team members. l) Prepares food based on standardized recipes. m) Assists in preparation of special meals and for special events. n) Operates kitchen within state and county regulations including sanitation, food storage, recordkeeping, food temperatures, portion sizes, chemical usage/storage. o) Operates kitchen equipment safely and efficiently: steamer, oven, grill, meat slicer, mixer, grinder, dishwasher, etc. p) Maintains cooler and freezer properly: dates and labels food, no food on floor, etc. q) Assists with putting up stock on delivery days. r) Maintains a clean and sanitized work environment. 4. Physical Demands/Working Conditions a) Able to sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, and move frequently during working hours. b) Able to lift 40 lbs. floor to waist, lift 10 lbs. waist to shoulder, lift and carry 40 lbs., and push/pull 40 lbs. c) Able to assist in the evacuation of residents.
