Job DetailsJob Location: WA - Longview, WA 98632Position Type: Full TimeSalary Range: $110,000.00 - $135,000.00 Salary/yearJob Category: Management Recycle Pulper Process Manager International Paper | NORPAC Mill | Longview, WA Position Summary International Paper NORPAC is seeking a highly motivated Deink Process Manager to lead the safe, reliable, environmentally compliant, and cost-effective operation of the Deink facility. This position is responsible for driving process performance, production execution, quality, environmental stewardship, reliability, and employee development while ensuring a consistent supply of high-quality recycled fiber to downstream operations. The Deink Process Manager works closely with Operations, Maintenance, Reliability, Engineering, Process Control, Logistics, and Paper Machine teams to maximize production capability and achieve mill objectives. This role serves as the primary owner of Deink process performance and continuous improvement efforts.   Key Responsibilities: Safety Leadership Promote and maintain a strong safety culture. Ensure compliance with all safety policies, procedures, permits, and regulatory requirements. Lead incident investigations and corrective actions. Conduct field observations, risk assessments, and safety audits.   Environmental Stewardship Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, permit requirements, and company standards. Drive continuous improvement in water usage, fiber recovery, and waste reduction.   Production & Process Management Lead daily production execution. Maintain adequate recycled fiber inventory and supply to paper machines. Optimize throughput, fiber yield, quality, and operating cost. Establish and maintain process targets, operating limits, and response plans. Coordinate production plans, shutdowns, startups, grade changes, and process trials.   Reliability & Asset Management Partner with Maintenance and Reliability teams to improve equipment performance. Prioritize corrective actions to eliminate recurring failures. Support preventive and predictive maintenance strategies. Coordinate outage planning and execution. Ensure critical process equipment remains reliable and available   Leadership & Team Development Provide leadership and direction to supervisors, operators, and support personnel. Establish clear expectations and accountability. Support employee training, qualification, and development programs. Conduct performance discussions and coaching. Foster teamwork, communication, and continuous improvement.   Quality Management Ensure product quality requirements are consistently achieved. Lead investigation of quality excursions and process variability.   Continuous Improvement Lead operational excellence initiatives. Develop standardized operating procedures and reliable methods. Drive projects focused on capacity improvement, cost reduction, yield improvement, and process stability. Qualifications​​​​​​Education Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Pulp & Paper Technology, Manufacturing, or a related field preferred. Equivalent operational leadership experience may be considered.   Experience Five or more years of experience in pulp, recycled fiber, paper manufacturing, or a related industrial environment. Demonstrated leadership experience in operations, process management, or production management. Strong understanding of recycled fiber preparation, stock processing, screening, cleaning, thickening, and papermaking processes.
