Job DetailsJob Location: TX-Longview Social Services - Longview, TX 75601Job Category: Music & ArtsTeaches professional-level group lessons to youth in appropriate performing arts discipline (musical instruments, vocals, etc.); creates lesson plans, monitors student progress, prepares students for performances; interacts with parents and other teachers; follows prescribed curriculum. Key Responsibilities:  Performance Arts Lesson Planning and Teaching Responsibilities (80%) Child Care Responsibilities (20%) Physical Requirements: Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language effectively. Ability to demonstrate performing arts techniques. Ability to establish goals and objectives and monitor their effective implementation. Ability to form positive relationships with youth. Ability to conduct all duties in accordance with the ministry of the organization and its Christian principles; conducts all communications and job duties with the highest level of professionalism. Duties are usually performed seated but may require frequent periods of standing and walking. Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.) 5-10% of work time. Working Conditions: Work is usually performed in a normal classroom environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.   What We Are Looking For in YouEducation and Experience: High school diploma or G.E.D. required, with a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Music Arts, Music Education, or related field preferred, AND Two years experience teaching private or group lessons in appropriate performing arts discipline, OR Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
