Shift/Schedule

  • Full Time - Scheduled for 36 Weekly Hours (12 Hour Shifts)
  • Shift Times - Days/Afternoons (7am-7:30pm)
  • Rotating Weekends and Holidays

THIS IS A COLLECTIVE BARGAINING UNIT POSITION

General Summary

Functioning as a member of the Care Delivery Team, the Secretary IV works under the direction of the Manager and/or RN Team Leader.  She/he transcribes physician orders, entering them into the computer; plans and organizes patient care records; coordinates communications of pertinent information to health team members and other departments; performs clerical duties according to specific needs; order unit supplies; promotes a positive climate for good interpersonal and interdepartmental relationships.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.  Must be able to read, write and perform simple mathematical computations.
  • Successful completion of a Medical Terminology is required.
  • Possess ability to meet public graciously.
  • Ability to type 35 wpm with accuracy required.
  • Demonstrate ability to report facts with accuracy, follow instructions and complete assignments independently.
  • Obtains/maintains annual certification in CPR.
  • Healthcare experience preferred.

Working Conditions/Reporting Relationships

  • Mental fatigue and eye strain resulting from continuously using eyesight while reading and recording. 
  • Minor scrapes and bumps may occur.
