Salary: $40,000–$45,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications
 Schedule: Full-Time, Monday–Friday | Rotating shifts within center hours of 6:30 AM–6:30 PM

The Learning Experience – Newark is seeking an organized and motivated Assistant Director to support the daily operation of our early childhood education center.
This role combines leadership, family service, staffing support, and center operations. We’re looking for someone who can confidently support teachers and families while helping ensure the school runs smoothly each day.
What You’ll Do
- Â Partner with center leadership to support daily operationsÂ
- Â Assist with staffing, scheduling, classroom coverage, and maintaining required ratiosÂ
- Â Support teacher onboarding, training, coaching, and developmentÂ
- Â Maintain licensing and employee documentationÂ
- Â Build strong relationships with current and prospective familiesÂ
- Â Conduct center tours and support enrollment and family retentionÂ
- Â Assist with administrative and business functionsÂ
- Â Help maintain high standards for classroom quality, health, and safetyÂ
- Â Respond to day-to-day operational needs throughout the centerÂ
- Â Support community events and family engagement initiativesÂ
- Â Follow Delaware childcare licensing requirementsÂ
What We’re Looking For
- Â Delaware Director qualification preferredÂ
- Â Candidates who are close to meeting Director qualifications and have strong relevant experience are encouraged to applyÂ
- Â Previous childcare center, preschool, or early childhood experience requiredÂ
- Â Leadership or administrative experience strongly preferredÂ
- Â Strong customer service and family communication skillsÂ
- Â Excellent organization, communication, and problem-solving skillsÂ
- Â Comfortable working rotating opening, mid, and closing schedules as neededÂ
- Â Must meet applicable Delaware childcare licensing requirementsÂ
