Ability Beyond Barriers is seeking a compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in community-based residential homes.
âś… This is NOT a nursing home or hospital role.
You will provide nursing services in small group homes where individuals live, work, and participate in the community.
What You’ll Do
As an LPN in Residential Services, you’ll integrate healthcare into everyday life—helping individuals live safely, independently, and with dignity.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide person-centered nursing care in home-like residential settings
- Administer medications, monitor health status, and complete treatments
- Maintain accurate MARs and clinical documentation
- Coordinate medical appointments and follow-up care
- Train and support Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) on health-related tasks
- Respond to changes in condition and communicate with the care team
- Promote infection control, safety, and wellness in the home environment

Requirements
- Active South Carolina LPN license (required)
- Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing program
- Valid driver’s license (travel between homes required)
- Experience with I/DD or community-based care is a plus
Work Environment & Schedule
- Work conducted in multiple residential homes across the community
- May include evenings, weekends, or on-call rotation as needed
- This is an Essential Employee role (must report during emergencies)
Pay & Exceptional Benefits

Benefit Eligibility Timeline
