Position Summary
The Project Engineer 2 supports engineering and project execution activities for fabrication, procurement, and equipment renovation efforts supporting mission-critical programs. This role assists in managing project scope, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and supporting engineering functions throughout project phases. Working under general supervision, the Project Engineer 2 contributes to project delivery by supporting technical execution, vendor coordination, and construction-related activities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Support engineering and project activities related to fabrication, procurement, and equipment renovationÂ
- Assistin managing project scope, schedules, and deliverables in alignment with mission objectivesÂ
- Coordinate with procurement engineers, vendors, and internal teams to support project executionÂ
- Provide support for construction and fabrication activities, including equipment and system upgradesÂ
- Participate in project meetings and contribute to technical discussions and problem-solving effortsÂ
- Assistin tracking project progress andidentifyingpotential risks or issuesÂ
- Support documentation development, reporting, and project coordination activitiesÂ
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to support project milestones
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, chemical, or related field) and 3–5 years of related experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience)Â
- Experience supporting engineering or construction projects, including coordination with vendors or project teamsÂ
- Basic understanding of project management principles, including scope, schedule, and executionÂ
- Proficiencywith standard business software (e.g., Microsoft Office, Teams)Â
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q clearanceÂ
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretionÂ
- Strong communicationand organizational skillsÂ
- Ability to work through problems effectively with guidance
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in nuclear, glovebox, or regulated facility environmentsÂ
- Mechanical or HVAC systems experienceÂ
- Experience supporting fabrication, procurement, or construction-related projectsÂ
- Familiarity with multidisciplinary engineering teams and project coordinationÂ
- Willingness to learn and grow into increased project responsibility
