The University of Southern California (USC) Alfred E. Mann School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Department of Pharmacology and Pharmaceutical Sciences, is seeking a highly motivated individual for the Papadopoulos Laboratory (https://mann.usc.edu/faculty/vassilios-papadopoulos-dpharm-phd-dsc-hon/) to work on the deciphering cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying Leydig cell androgen formation and identifying pharmacological means to control testosterone synthesis.

Specific responsibilities involve mammalian cell culture, general bench research, and animal experimentation.

Preferred Education:

Candidates with an M.S. degree for 2–3 years of lab experience, or a B.S. degree with 5+ years of equivalent experience.

Required Technical Skills:

Proficiency in mammalian cell culture, quantitative real-time PCR (qRT-PCR), protein extraction and immunoblotting (Western blot), immunohistochemistry (IHC) staining, microscopy imaging, flow cytometry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Experience with Seahorse metabolic analysis is preferred but not required. Demonstrated experience in animal handling is required, including blood collection, serum and plasma preparation, tissue harvesting, fixation, processing, and embedding. 

The hourly rate range for this position is $31.21 - $33.65. Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree And Specialized/technical training

Addtional Education Requirements Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum education
Minimum Experience: 3 years

Minimum Skills: Fully competent and proficient in the operation of sophisticated scientific equipment and independently able to perform complex procedures and techniques with accuracy.
Preferred Education: Master's degree


Preferred Skills: Advanced knowledge of research procedures, equipment and analysis methods.
