SUMMARY OF POSITION

Soffa Electric is a well-established systems integration firm with over 50 years in the industry. We are seeking the right individual to join our Production team as a Wiring Technician. This professional, in the role of Wiring Technician I, will exhibit point to point wiring for electrical control panels under direct supervision. The Wiring Technician I will help build, maintain, and deliver electrical control panels and be responsible for ensuring our machines meet and exceed our customers’ expectations. The ideal candidate has a strong attention to detail and a safety-conscious mindset. 


OBJECTIVES OF THIS ROLE

The primary objectives of a Wiring Technician I are to assemble, wire, and test electrical control panels according to blueprints and specifications, ensuring compliance with safety standards and industry best practices. 

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure the mandatory use of all required safety equipment before starting work.
  • Work with electrical tools and hand tools.
  • Assist in the preparation and layout of electrical control panels.
  • Cut, strip, and terminate electrical wires according to electrical schematics.
  • Support senior wiremen with panel assembly and wiring tasks.
  • Follow wiring diagrams, manuals, and other specifications to ensure proper setup.
  • Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and quality standards.
  • Organize and maintain tools, equipment, and materials in the work area.
  • Perform basic tests to verify the functionality of electrical systems in the panels.
  • Consistently observe and incorporate all relevant safety best practices.

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, SKILLS AND/OR ABILITIES REQUIRED

Experience: Some experience in electrical wiring or control panel assembly.

Degree: Not Required

Certification(s): Completion of a basic electrical training or apprenticeship program preferred.

Abilities: Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and diagrams. Must have basic understanding of electrical systems and wiring. Must have basic knowledge of hand tools and electrical testing equipment. Strong attention to detail and a safety-conscious mindset. Ability to work effectively in a team environment and follow instructions.
