THIS REQUISITION IS FOR AN ASSISTANT WOMEN'S WATER POLO COACH POSITION.


Position Summary

The Assistant Coach is responsible for supporting the planning, development, and administration of all phases of the assigned UCLA sport program. The role involves assisting with practice planning, game preparation, recruiting, administrative tasks and special projects. The Assistant Coach will be expected to demonstrate a commitment to adhering to the policies, procedures, and guidelines set forth by the University of California System, UCLA Department of Intercollegiate Athletics (DIA), the respective conference, and the NCAA.


Salary & Compensation

*UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Salary offers at the top of the range are not common. Qualifications

  • 3-5 years demonstrated coaching experience at the Division I level. (Preferred)
  • Demonstrated experience with fiscal management and budgeting. (Required)
  • Proven ability to assist in recruiting, developing, and training elite athletes at the collegiate level. (Required)
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with student-athletes, administrators, peers, and the general public. (Required)
  • Commitment to fostering a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion within the program. (Required)
  • Demonstrated understanding of the responsibilities associated with coaching in a Division I program and the ability to communicate effectively with student-athletes. (Required)
  • Knowledge of NCAA Division I rules and regulations and a proven record of compliance. (Required)
  • Ability and willingness to adhere to UCLA's policies regarding fiscal responsibility, ethical conduct, and compliance with university standards. (Required)

  • Education, Licenses, Certifications & Personal Affiliations

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university. (Preferred)
  • Must possess, upon hire, and maintain a valid CA noncommercial Class C License in accordance with the California (CA) Department of Motor Vehicles. (Required)
  • Must possess and maintain current certifications in first aid, CPR, and AED use. Proof of certifications must be provided within 30 days after employment. Duties will be limited until certifications are submitted. (Required)

  • Special Conditions for Employment

  • Background Check: Continued employment is contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory background investigation.
  • Live Scan Background Check: A Live Scan background check must be completed prior to the start of employment.
  • Driving Record: The position is subject to the California DMV "Pull Notice System" and continued employment is contingent upon proof of a satisfactory driving record.
  • CANRA: The position is designated as a mandatory reporter under CANRA. The employee must sign the "Statement Acknowledging Requirement to Report Child Abuse".
  • 20% Ability to travel for team competitions and team activities as needed.
