Position Summary 

The Assistant Community Manager supports the Community Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations of a residential apartment community. This role focuses on rent collection, resident relations, leasing support, and administrative tasks. The Assistant Community Manager plays a key role in maintaining accurate records, ensuring a high level of customer service, and promoting the values of Decron Properties. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Assist with daily operations, resident communications, and leasing activities 

  • Process rent payments, track delinquencies, and assist with collections 

  • Assist in the coordination of resident move-ins, move-outs, and compliance documentation 

  • Support the community manager with budget monitoring and financial reporting 

  • Address resident inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner 

  • Maintain accurate resident records, files, and documentation in accordance with company policies 

  • Post and process legal notices related to rent collection or lease compliance, support eviction procedures in accordance with local laws 

  • Support leasing efforts with tours, application processing, and lease signing as needed 

  • Contribute to resident retention efforts, community events, and marketing campaigns 

  • Ensure compliance with Fair Housing laws and company policies/procedures 

  • Respond to resident inquiries and concerns professionally and promptly 

 

Non-Essential Duties 

  • Assist with vendor coordination and maintenance follow-up 

  • Support marketing and resident event efforts 

  • Provide coverage at other communities as needed 

  • Participate in team meetings, training, and company events 

  • Other duties as assigned 

 

Required Qualifications 

  • High school diploma or equivalent required 

  • 1+ years of experience in property management, leasing, or administrative support 

  • Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and property management software (e.g., Yardi, RealPage) 

  • Understanding of Fair Housing laws and rental regulations 

  • Ability to work weekends and/or extended hours as needed 

 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Associate degree in Business, Real Estate, or related field 

  • Previous experience in a support or assistant management role within property management 

 

Work Environment and Physical Requirements 

This position operates on-site at the apartment community. 

  • Regularly uses standard office equipment and mobile technology 

  • Frequently walks the property including stairs and outdoor areas 

  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds 

  • Communicates with residents, vendors, and team members in person, by phone, and electronically 

  • May be exposed to varying outdoor weather conditions
