Position Summary:
The Behavioral Health Clinician III (BHC III) provides screening, consultation, behavioral intervention, referrals and counseling and therapy to patients within an integrated medical and behavioral health setting, and also provides clinical supervision to ACSW and AMFT providing clinical services within their units. Makes clinical recommendations and refers to appropriate levels of care in a team based setting. Must be a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the State of California. This position requires a strong team player and self-starter. The BHC III will provide mental health and substance abuse assessment and treatment of patients across multiple sites. The BHC III promotes patients self-management and empowers patients/families to achieve maximum levels of wellness and independence. The BHC lll will also provide Field Placement Supervision to MSW and MFT Candidates, comply with BBS required documentation for ACSW and AMFT learning agreement and clinical hours, and find substitute supervisor for Associates and Interns during sick time or vacation.

Education: (Required)
Master’s Degree in Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy, Clinical Psychology, or other discipline acceptable toward licensure by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences as a therapist.
Â
Experience: (Required)
- Â Minimum 3 years providing direct mental health services and supports in an integrated health setting.
- Â 1 year providing clinical supervision to pre-license ACSW and AMFT cliniciansÂ
- Bilingual (preferred).
Â
Licensure/Certification:
- Licensed with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences as LCSW, LMFT
- BBS 12 Hour Supervisory Certificate
- Minimum 2 years post licensure
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs a combination, but not necessarily all, of the following duties:
Clinical patient careÂ
- Provide assessment, evaluation and mental health treatmentÂ
- Provide individual and group therapy to promote overall wellness, in accordance with the treatment planÂ
- Consult with medical providers on psychosocial issues patients bring to their medical appointmentsÂ
- Triage both urgent and routine referrals from medical providers and program staffÂ
- Collaborate with staff and providers to schedule patients for intakeÂ
- Engage in regular case conferencing with program staff and primary care departmentsÂ
- Formulate client-centered treatment plans for assigned clientsÂ
- Ensure linkage to case management, advocacy, medication monitoring, emergency services, insurance companies, education referrals and consultation with other agencies as appropriateÂ
- Collaborate with primary care, prescribing physician, emergency services, program staff, and consult (where appropriate) other agencies regarding each clientÂ
Communication and supportÂ
- Prepare case presentations when indicated to the multi-disciplinary teamÂ
- Provide feedback to medical providers and program staff on patients referredÂ
- Participate in Integrated Behavioral Health clinical, staff, and other meetings as assignedÂ
- Participate in scheduled supervision sessions with clinical and administrative supervisorsÂ
AdministrativeÂ
- Maintain professional licensureÂ
- Provides clinical and programmatic supervision to pre-license clinicians, as well as to supporting staff (i.e. Community Health Workers)
- Comply with all medical record keeping requirements for assigned caseloadÂ
- Meet or exceed productivity objectivesÂ
- Prepare timely submission of all Electronic Health Record (E.H.R.) records required (i.e. visit notes, billing paperwork and prior authorizations as examples)Â
- Schedule work hours and days in accordance with operational needsÂ
- Respond and contribute to data collection and other information gathering activities necessary for programs' evaluation, funding and development

- Provide Clinical Supervision for supervised hours for ACSW, AMFT, and other appropriate Board of Behavioral Sciences licensees
