POSITION SUMMARY
聽
ABM, a leading provider of integrated facility solutions, is looking for a Certified Engineer.
The Certified Engineer supports the designated leadership with the daily operations of all building systems. This includes hard surface maintenance and repair, basic carpentry and metal work, operating, maintaining and repairing all facility system equipment associated with HVAC operations and mechanical and electrical systems. The Certified Engineer will also respond to customer requests and submit and close work orders as necessary and perform other duties as assigned.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
路聽Operate,聽maintain,聽and聽repair聽all聽boilers, heaters,聽pumps,聽valves,聽appurtenances,聽and聽lines used in the聽distribution聽of聽steam聽and heated or聽processed water.
路聽Operate, maintain and repair refrigerant compressors, condensers, evaporators, traps, transfer聽pumps,聽expansion聽valves,聽stop聽valves聽and聽float聽valves,聽together聽with聽all refrigerant lines聽and devices used to control temperature.
路聽Operate, maintain and repair pumps, handling brines or other secondary refrigerating liquids,聽together聽with all valves,聽appurtenances and lines聽used in the聽system.
路聽Operate,聽maintain,聽and聽repair聽air聽compressors,聽together聽with聽distribution聽lines聽and聽all聽valves and devices for聽air聽control.
路聽Operate,聽maintain聽and聽repair聽all聽natural聽and聽manufactured聽gas聽distribution聽lines,聽including all valves and control devices.
路聽Operate,聽maintain聽and聽repair聽water聽filters聽softeners,聽piping聽and聽pumps聽used聽in聽conjunction with water聽distribution,聽including聽all sinks,聽toilet聽bowls,聽supply lines,聽drains and water聽lines.
路聽Operate,聽maintain聽and聽repair聽all聽types聽of聽electrical聽motors聽and聽engines聽used聽to聽power pumps,聽compressors聽and fans.
路聽Operate,聽maintain聽and聽repair聽of聽fuel聽oil聽systems聽including聽pumps,聽valves,聽lines,聽controls聽and fuel tanks.
路聽Operate,聽maintain聽and聽repair聽sanitary聽sewer聽systems,聽including聽sump聽pumps,聽basis,聽water closets,聽urinals聽and piping.
路聽Maintain and repair聽trash聽compactors,聽including聽electrical and hydraulic聽systems.
路聽Maintain and repair kitchen equipment.
路聽Maintain聽electrical聽power聽distribution聽and聽auxiliaries聽for聽the聽building鈥檚聽lighting,聽mechanical, plumbing聽and control components聽including聽lighting聽maintenance.
路聽Maintain聽proper聽operation聽during聽seasonal聽changes聽and聽recalibrate聽controls聽based聽upon seasonal conditions to assure energy聽efficient聽operation.
路聽Maintain all equipment as required per the Preventive Maintenance Program.聽聽 聽
路聽The Preventive聽Maintenance聽program聽will聽be聽scheduled聽to聽meet the manufacturer鈥檚 required services specifications.
路聽Life/Safety聽and聽security聽systems聽-聽Equipment maintenance聽applicable聽in聽Engineer鈥檚聽scope will be聽included.
路聽Other聽duties and responsibilities as聽requested聽by聽Building聽Management.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Formal knowledge of HVAC Components (VAV鈥檚, Air-Handlers, Pumps, unit ventilators, etc.)
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Experience that is commensurate with the specific facility for the position of Certified Engineer
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 As required, highest-level relevant state/local license for Stationary Engineer and/or HVAC, plus universal level refrigerant recovery license
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Computer skills and building automation systems experience required.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Certification meeting OSHA ACM awareness training requirements as required.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 EPA 608 Certified (preferred)

聽F.CERTIFIED ENGINEER: By passing the standardized certification examination, an
Engineer demonstrates their superior knowledge of certain aspects of the trade. The job duties performed by the Certified Engineer, in a safe and efficient manner, are the same as those performed by the Non-Certified Engineer, as those are set forth in Section G.
聽
G.NON-CERTIFIED ENGINEER: In a safe and efficient manner, operates and maintains
boilers, compressors, refrigeration equipment, generators, air-conditioning facilities and all appurtenant equipment driven by steam, air, diesel, gas, water or any other power-developing energy. Patrols, inspects and maintains all mechanical, HVAC, electrical, piping and plumbing systems and equipment to the end that the most economical and efficient results may be obtained. May effect repairs on toilet facilities, registers, radiators, lights, fixtures, minor repairs on furniture and floors, provided that while standing a watch on a high-pressure boiler installation, they are not required to violate any State, County or City Ordinances, Codes or Laws.
