Ontic is a leading global aerospace OEM trusted by the world’s aviation leaders. Ontic’s Chatsworth, CA, site specializes in precision engineering, MRO, and new solutions for parts at risk of obsolescence. With over 1,700 employees across four time zones and nine sites, we have more than doubled in size since 2019 and are continuing to grow at pace. 

Our team is looking for a Finance Controller to join them. You will report to the Finance Director and will have an onsite work structure in Chatsworth, CA. 


To be considered for the Finance Controller opening, here’s what you’ll need to bring with you: 

  • Bachelor’s in a relevant field. MBA is a plus.
  • CPA mandatory.
  • Prior Controller experience is a must.
  • 5-7+ years of progressive financial experience.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment - aerospace desirable.
  • Experience within a fast-paced environment.
  • People management and development experience.
  • Experience of working with and presenting to senior management, including driving action.

As a Finance Controller, you will: 

  • Day-to-day management of the accounting function, including overseeing the Accounting Manager, AP and AR leads and Finance Graduates. Overall responsibility for a team of 15.
  • Strong technical understanding of US GAAP and the ability to handle complex accounting requirements at period-end.
  • Produce clear and insightful management reporting that supports agile and effective business decision making.
  • Ownership of the working capital process, including accurate forecasting and presenting to senior management.
  • Complete General Ledger account analysis and maintenance.
  • Oversee the Accounting team, including an Accounting Manager and Accounting Lead to ensure a timely month-end close process, completion and review of all reconciliations and working closely with Group accounting as required.
  • Oversee the AP team, partnering with Supply Chain and Planning to optimize both supplier performance and the payables process.
  • Oversee the AR team, partnering with Commercial to minimize overdue and to time invoice generation to optimize month end AR position.
  • Be a key partner to identify process improvement opportunities and partner with other departments for more effective processes and accurate data.
  • Lead the external and internal audit process for the site reporting out to Finance Director.
  • Lead Engagement with licensors for ensuring that accurate revenue and cost are recorded through TSA (Transition Services Accounting) period, from revenue recognition to timely cash collection.
  • Lead integration of finance process improvements across the site, including maintenance of key controls.
  • Develop robust inventory controls across the business, including accurate cycle counting, Aged WIP and Defective material reporting.
  • Support the annual review of the strategic plan and budgeting process working alongside the Senior Management team in developing initiatives for the site, including headcount and working capital.
