Description
The Cook at The Vered plays a key role in delivering an elevated, restaurant-style dining experience for our residents and guests. This position is responsible for full-scope, hands-on food production across breakfast, lunch, and dinner service, as well as special events and community gatherings. The Cook thrives in a high-volume environment, executing both cook-to-order and fresh batch cooking with consistency, creativity, and attention to detail.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
Essential Job Responsibilities
(Other duties may be assigned as needed.)
- Maintain The Vered’s high standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and organizationÂ
- Prepare and execute all meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner) and special events with strong attention to quality and presentationÂ
- Perform high-volume cook-to-order and batch cooking with speed, accuracy, and consistencyÂ
- Ensure compliance with all dietary guidelines, modified diets, and regulatory requirementsÂ
- Support dining service as needed, including plating, serving, and dishwashingÂ
- Engage with residents to gather feedback and enhance the dining experienceÂ
- Follow all health, safety, and HIPAA regulationsÂ
- Work collaboratively with team members and contribute to continuous improvement of culinary operationsÂ
- Complete tasks efficiently and participate in trainings and meetings as requiredÂ
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalentÂ
- At least 3 year of cooking experience in a restaurant, hospitality, or senior living setting preferredÂ
- Experience with high-volume and cook-to-order service preferredÂ
- Current Food Handler’s Card (or ability to obtain)Â
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and health regulationsÂ
- Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skillsÂ
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changeÂ
- Basic computer skills preferredÂ
