Clean Power Alliance (CPA) is Southern California’s locally operated not-for-profit default electricity provider for 38 communities within Los Angeles and Ventura counties and the 4th largest electricity provider in the State of California. We provide clean renewable energy at competitive rates to over three million residents and businesses through approximately one million customer accounts.
What You’ll Do
CPA seeks a detail-oriented, highly motivated and organized communications professional to join our fast-paced team as Coordinator, Communications and Marketing. The primary responsibilities include but are not limited to gathering and coordinating content from teams across the organization and external sources for communications and outreach needs, updating database lists and calendars, proofreading and updating materials, content generation for presentations and outreach, coordinating and leading meetings, providing campaign execution support, and leading the outreach, enrollment and data analysis for the Green Leader program.
Who You’ll Work With
The Coordinator, Communications and Marketing will work under the direct supervision of the Senior Director, Communications and Marketing and will work closely with other staff on the Communications and Marketing team. This role may also work directly with other teams across the organization including Government Affairs, Customer Programs, Customer Care and cross-functionally with CPA’s Clerk of the Board, Strategic Accounts, and Data and Systems teams, as well as with external stakeholders, including contractors and consultants.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Communications Coordination: Coordinate operational tasks as assigned including but not limited to meetings and calendar coordination, ordering, tracking, and storing promotional inventory, and updating and managing databases and tools to ensure projects stay on schedule and documentation is current. Work with internal teams to ensure customer notices, fact sheets, reports and other key communications materials and content are accurately produced and delivered on time.
- Event Planning and Coordination: Provide end-to-end event support including researching venues, coordinating event speakers and materials, event invitations and response tracking, event setup and teardown and post-event reporting and communications.
- Program Coordination: Coordinate the outreach and enrollment process for customers in promotional programs including but not limited to CPA’s Green Leader program. This includes processing enrollments, documenting and improving processes, and working with key stakeholders to ensure timely completion of the enrollment steps. Communicate with customers to notify them of their program enrollment status and provide, where applicable, ongoing messaging about their participation. Lead outreach to customers, collaborate with stakeholders, track and analyze program data to determine best outreach approaches, research and implement marketing and promotional tactics. Responsible for performance monitoring evaluation of the Green Leader program through collaboration with internal departments to ensure consistency and accuracy of data reporting. Maintain program documentation and outreach materials.
- Project and Contracts Coordination: Responsible for coordinating the development and distribution process of customer notices in conjunction with internal teams, updating various pieces of communications collateral, translation coordination, fact-checking and reviewing materials for accuracy. Serve as contracts liaison by tracking timelines and assisting in drafting contract content such as scope of work and timelines for deliverables. Responsible for coordinating with internal departments to develop, enhance, and document processes to update or renew contracts.
- Administrative & Process Documentation: Organize files, prepare and disseminate correspondence, and assist with document preparation. Help track timelines and support the coordination of stakeholder and customer communications schedules under direction from team members. Review project scopes to ensure they are clear and consistent and highlight any inconsistencies. Responsible for maintaining the Communications and Marketing team’s operational procedures and records by creating, updating, and distributing clear processes to ensure compliance.
- Operational Coordination: Responsible for coordinating day-to-day tasks for the Communications and Marketing team, ensuring smooth workflow and communications between stakeholders to meet deadlines and achieve goals within the department. Responsible for coordinating interactions with internal and external stakeholders.
- Research, and Coordinate PR Opportunities: Under the guidance of Communications and Marketing team leadership, research and coordinate opportunities for CPA visibility including but not limited to award entries, events, and paid media placements.

Qualifications
- Candidates must have a bachelor's degree
- Minimum of 2-4 years relevant experience in communications, administration, or project management.
- Administrative experience with large teams/departments preferred.
- Experience in an organization’s communications environment
Work Location
This position is eligible for either Hybrid or Remote options. The Hybrid option requires attendance in our Downtown Los Angeles office on a full-time basis 2- 3 days per week on days determined by CPA, with work location on the remaining days either in office or remote. This includes a transportation allowance. The Remote option requires you to be available to attend full-time in office days and/or field events within Los Angeles and Ventura Counties in accordance with the needs of the company that may start as early as 8:30am at least 2 days per week. The Remote & Hybrid options require full-time in-person attendance at organization or team-wide events 3 times per year for 3-5 days per event. All staff are required to work during CPA’s office hours Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:30pm PST.
This position is non-exempt and the salary range for this position is $90.743.24-$136,114.86 with exact compensation to be determined by Clean Power Alliance, dependent on experience. Benefits include health care, a 401(k)-like match program, paid vacation, and sick leave. This is not a civil service position; however, all CPA employees are required to submit a Statement of Economic Interests form, also known as the Form 700.
