SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE

The Cost Accountant is responsible for setting up and maintaining accurate process cost information, reconciliation of standards to actual costs, maintenance of perpetual inventory system, participation in month end close as well as assisting in day-to-day operations and reporting requirements. This position will also develop and manage operational initiatives to deliver tactical results. This position is expected to work in-person at our HQ complex in Hollywood, CA.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Process Standard Cost transactions, for Material, Labor, and Overhead as needed; evaluate and resolve unusual variances.
  • Perform month end Cost Accounting Close
  • Analyze inventory valuations and correct as needed
  • Oversee Annual PI and correct inventory misstatements. 
  •  Develop process to limit inventory errors. (Corrective actions)
  • Reconcile detailed inventory reports to general ledger
  • Assist with annual audit preparations, investigate and resolve findings, discrepancies, and issues of non-compliance
  • Evaluate and create product cost updates for inventory items added by the operations team
  • Maintain integrity and accuracy of reporting


QUALIFICATIONS

  • BS/BA in Accounting or Finance. CPA or CMA a plus
  • Cost accounting in consumer products manufacturing environment preferred
  • Strong leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results
  • Excellent quantitative and qualitative analytical skills, including significant relevant experience with inventory management
  • Must have proactive project management skills
  • 4+ years of cost accounting experience
  • Thorough knowledge of cost accounting principles, systems, and procedures
  • Excellent MS Office and Excel skills
  • Strong ERP experience. MS Dynamics 365 experience a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication with all levels of the organization
  • Must have positive attitude, confident demeanor, and be willing to tackle challenging tasks under competing deadlines. This is a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment where people at all levels are expected to "roll up their sleeves" and exhibit a "can do" spirit, and see projects through to completion
