In this role, you will transform retail, inventory, customer, and supply chain data into actionable insights that improve store performance, optimize product availability, strengthen pricing strategies, and enhance the overall customer experience. This position plays a critical role in driving data-informed decision-making across merchandising, operations, supply chain, marketing, and executive leadership. Base salary: $80,000 – $90,000 (adjusted for experience) Key Responsibilities Analyze point-of-sale (POS) data to identify sales trends, product performance, and seasonal patterns. Monitor store KPIs including foot traffic, conversion rates, shrinkage, and labor efficiency. Support store-level performance evaluations through weekly and monthly reporting. Analyze inventory turnover, stockout rates, and replenishment cycles to optimize product availability. Partner with supply chain teams to forecast demand, reduce spoilage and waste, and improve order accuracy. Evaluate planogram effectiveness and category performance to inform merchandising decisions. Leverage loyalty card data to assess buying behavior, customer segmentation, and promotional impact. Measure the effectiveness of marketing campaigns, discounts, and digital coupons. Build dashboards and automated reports for leadership, merchandising, and store operations teams. Maintain data integrity across POS, inventory, and ERP systems. Collaborate with IT and analytics teams to enhance data pipelines and improve data quality. QualificationsRequired Qualifications 1–3+ years of experience in a Data Analyst or Business Analyst role (retail or CPG experience preferred). Proficiency in SQL and experience working with large transactional datasets. Strong experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker. Experience using Python or R for data cleaning, analysis, and modeling. Ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for non-technical audiences. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, or a related field. Retail or supermarket industry experience (POS systems, category management, planograms, forecasting). Familiarity with demand forecasting models and inventory optimization techniques. Experience working with loyalty program data and customer segmentation. Knowledge of cloud analytics platforms (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud). Understanding of supply chain and merchandising workflows. Key Competencies Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills. Business acumen in retail or CPG environments. High attention to detail with a strong commitment to data accuracy. Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with operations, finance, human resources, loss prevention, merchandising, and logistics teams. The IT Analyst must be able to effectively communicate technical and non-technical information to diverse populations, including employees, leadership, vendors, and community members from a wide range of cultural, linguistic, and professional backgrounds.
