Dental Insurance Biller / Patient Care Coordinator

Employment Type: Full-Time | Direct Hire

Compensation: $25.00-$30 per hour DOE

Schedule
  • Monday: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
  • Tuesday – Friday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Position Summary

The Dental Insurance Biller / Patient Care Coordinator is responsible for managing insurance claims, accounts receivable, payment posting, insurance follow-up, and assisting patients with scheduling, answering incoming calls, and coordinating appointments. This position requires excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced dental environment.



Primary Responsibilities

Insurance & Billing

  • Submit electronic dental insurance claims
  • Review claims for accuracy prior to submission
  • Post insurance payments and EOBs
  • Monitor and manage insurance aging reports
  • Follow up with insurance companies regarding outstanding claims
  • Appeal denied or underpaid claims
  • Correct and resubmit claims as needed
  • Maintain accurate patient financial records
  • Review accounts receivable and assist with collections
  • Document insurance communications thoroughly
  • Assist with insurance benefit verification when needed

Front Office & Patient Care

  • Answer incoming multi-line phone calls professionally
  • Schedule and confirm patient appointments
  • Assist patients with treatment scheduling
  • Provide outstanding customer service to every patient
  • Coordinate daily schedule to maximize productivity
  • Respond to patient questions regarding appointments and financial information
  • Maintain accurate patient records
  • Support the clinical team with administrative tasks as needed
  • Ensure HIPAA compliance and confidentiality

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of dental insurance billing experience
  • Strong knowledge of PPO dental insurance
  • Experience with dental accounts receivable
  • Experience scheduling dental patients
  • Comfortable answering high-volume phone calls
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask in a busy office environment
  • Professional, dependable, and team-oriented

Preferred

  • Experience with Open Dental
  • Experience using Weave
  • Knowledge of Fee-for-Service (UCR) practices
  • Experience presenting financial information to patients
