Job DetailsJob Location: ISANA Home Office - Los Angeles, CA 90010Position Type: Full TimeEducation Level: 4 Year DegreeSalary Range: $120,000.00 - $150,000.00 SalaryTravel Percentage: NegligibleJob Shift: DayJob Category: EducationJob Purpose: Note this postion is  The Director of Human Resources will implement and execute the strategic direction, policies, and procedures of ISANA Academies’ human resources department.  The Director of Human Resources will work closely with the executive team, and manage a multimember Human Resources team, to contribute to and support the functionality of ISANA Academies’ organization and goals.  Major areas of responsibility include employee benefits and compensation, recruitment, hiring, performance management, organizational development, wellness, employee motivation, communication, administration and training, leaves of absence, worker’s compensation, onboarding, policies, and teacher credential compliance.  As ISANA Academies grows in size and complexity we are looking for a strong leader and strategic thinker. The Director of Human Resources will drive efforts to enrich employees, leverage technology, streamline systems and processes, ensure ISANA Academies complies with all applicable employment laws, and serve as a thought partner to the executive team, reporting directly to the Chief Operations Officer.   Job Duties: Develop and implement strategic direction for executing the human resources function of the organization as it relates to employee benefits and compensation, position control administration, recruitment, hiring, performance management, organizational development, wellness, employee communication, training, leaves of absence administration, workers’ compensation, on / off boarding, policies, and teacher credential compliance Ensure clear and consistent company-wide communication regarding, and execution of, Human Resources policies and practices Promote positive and constructive employee relations Ensure that all teachers are properly credentialed if necessary, track teacher credentials, and implement procedures to notify teachers of required steps to maintain credentials Manage annual academic employment agreement renewals for teachers and staff, as required Oversees annual benefit open enrollment and processing to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and monitors the national benefits landscape for beneficial cost saving alternatives Manage and maintain the Human Resources Information System to ensure all records and personnel information is compliant and complete Ensure that ISANA Academies is in compliance with all applicable employment laws   Develop guidance and tools to limit legal liability in all employment practices Effectively integrate new hires and administer benefits for all personnel Conduct employee orientation, development, and training Develop, implement, and document key Human Resources programs and policies Conduct or coordinate investigations when employee complaints or concerns are raised Implement safety and health programs for employees Keep the CEO, COO, and the executive team informed of significant problems that jeopardize the achievement of the organization’s goals, and those that are not being addressed adequately at the management level Direct the preparation and maintenance of reports as are necessary to carry out the functions of the department and for the executive team to track strategic goal development QualificationsQUALIFICATION GUIDELINES Experience/Training/Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Education, Organizational Psychology or a related field is required Minimum of 5-7 years of Human Resources experience, with at least 2-3 years of experience as a Human Resources Manager, is required PHR or SPHR designation is preferred Experience working with California charter schools is preferred   Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Strong interpersonal skills, including verbal communication, written communication, and coaching skills Ability to think critically and possession of strong analytical skills Ability to interact effectively with company executives and employees Commitment to ethical behavior at all levels of the organization Strong understanding of federal/state/local employment and wage and hour laws and regulations Ability to build and lead collaborative, coordinated, and supportive relationships Demonstrate flexibility and innovation when faced with ambiguity Tenacity and a willingness to go above and beyond to achieve the organization’s goals and mission Respect for the team and the communities CEG serves Passion for improving K-12 public education   Physical and Environmental Elements: This is primarily a sedentary office classification in an office environment with moderate noise levels and controlled temperature conditions, involving long periods of time sitting. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision to read printed materials and a computer screen with ability to adjust focus. There is potential for occasional exposure to irate parents, staff and public and private representatives in interpreting and enforcing departmental policies and procedures. Finger dexterity is needed to access, enter and retrieve data using a computer keyboard or calculator and to operate standard office equipment. The position occasionally bends, stoops, reaches, pushes, and pulls drawers to retrieve and file information and lifts and carries reports that typically weigh less than 25 pounds. The position requires the ability to drive a vehicle, to obtain and maintain car insurance, and to occasionally travel by train, plane, or other means outside of the Los Angeles area.   New Hire Bonus Notice: This position is eligible for a signing bonus available to eligible new hires only. Current ISANA employees are not eligible for the signing bonus. Payment will be made in installments. Eligibility for each installment requires active employment with ISANA on the payment date. Signing bonuses may be prorated based on start date or unpaid leave status and are subject to applicable taxes. Employees who separate from ISANA prior to the end of a bonus period will not be eligible for that installment. Pay Range Notice: The posted pay range represents the full salary range for this classified position. Final placement within the range is contingent upon verification of prior experience through completion of the required Verification of Experience (VOE) form. Credit for prior experience requires verification of qualifying employment and having worked at least 85% of the applicable employment period.
