Position Summary / Objective This position is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and managing mechanical, electrical, electronic, and sfx-related equipment. The role supports warehouse operations, ensures safety and regulatory compliance, and maintains detailed records, inventory, and certifications related to equipment and sfx systems. Role Responsibilities The following duties represent the primary responsibilities of the role. This list is not exhaustive. The individual in this position will perform additional tasks as assigned, adhere to all provisions of the Employee Manual, and participate in company initiatives and projects. Equipment Maintenance & Technical Support Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical/electronic equipment, including programmable controls, power supplies, drives, and testing equipment. Install, start up, and shut down equipment in accordance with company safety procedures and OSHA and other government requirements. Perform preventive maintenance functions as directed. Troubleshoot and resolve issues with lasers and other electronic equipment using Windows-based platforms. Build, repair, and solder cables as needed. SFX Systems & Compliance Management Maintain and source all laser-related safety equipment (goggles, safety lenses, laser meters, etc.). Understand sfx technical specifications and ensure appropriate safety procedures and equipment are in place. Manage sfx certifications and compliance documentation. Track and maintain up-to-date inventory and status for all sfx equipment, including detailed troubleshooting logs. Maintain inventory of sfx consumable goods (e.g., alcohol, acetone, gloves). Maintain a digital filing system for all technical information related to sfx and parts. Inventory, Records & Vendor Management Maintain company-required performance and maintenance records for designated equipment. Requisition and acquire repair parts from manufacturers. Maintain a log of all vendors and parts for future reference. Accurately pack equipment for shows and assist with loading and unloading trucks as needed. Use Excel and/or Google Sheets with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Warehouse Support & Collaboration Assist warehouse personnel with technical and electronics troubleshooting. Train warehouse staff as needed on equipment and technical processes. Provide assistance to other warehouse staff with regular warehouse duties as required. Perform all duties in accordance with company safety, compliance requirements, and standards. Work Environment Office/Warehouse environment. The role involves exposure to loud noises, hot and cold temperatures, and frequent interaction with employees at all levels of the organization. Physical Demands This role requires frequent movement, including standing, walking, bending, climbing stairs, and working at a fast pace in a warehouse and office environment with varying temperatures and noise levels. The position requires the ability to lift up to 100 pounds occasionally and up to 70 pounds frequently, and to work extended or varying hours as needed. Position Type / Expected Hours of Work Hours vary based on business needs. A standard schedule will be set by the Facility Manager; however, longer-than-normal workdays may be required during peak business periods. Travel This position requires travel of less than 25%. Travel may be domestic or international. The individual must be legally able to cross state and international borders. Compensation & Benefits Salary Range: $25 – $27 / hour. The final salary offered will be commensurate with the candidate's skills, qualifications, education, and relevant professional experience. Three (3) to five (5) years of proven experience in electrical/electronics and mechanical repair and maintenance. Two-year technical degree, accredited apprenticeship program, or equivalent hands-on experience in a technical field. Demonstrated experience troubleshooting and resolving issues with lasers and other electronic equipment, including systems operating on Windows-based platforms. Proficiency in the safe and proper use of hand tools, power tools, soldering equipment, and standard diagnostic tools (e.g., multimeter, oscilloscope, power meter). Experience building, repairing, and soldering cables. Strong understanding of sfx safety requirements, including maintenance of safety equipment and compliance documentation. Ability to work independently and accurately in a fast-paced, frequently changing environment with strong attention to detail. Proven ability to follow all safety protocols and regulatory requirements without exception. Proficiency in Excel and/or Google Sheets for inventory tracking, recordkeeping, and documentation. Must be at least 18 years of age, have reliable transportation, and successfully pass a government background check in accordance with ATF requirements.
