About the Role
This is a high-ownership engineering role at the frontier of enterprise AI automation, sitting at the intersection of software engineering, customer partnership, and operational delivery. You'll work directly with some of the largest companies in the world to architect and deploy automations that replace complex, high-volume workflows — outcomes measured in business impact, not lines of code. It's an ideal fit for engineers who are energised by solving real business problems and building lasting relationships alongside shipping production software.
What You'll Do
Conduct deep process mining with enterprise customers, breaking down complex and ambiguous workflows into precise, actionable steps.
Build robust, scalable automations using an AI-English-based programming language.
Architect solutions that are reliable and designed to operate at production scale.
Partner closely with customer stakeholders to iterate on implementations and drive adoption.
Own deployments end-to-end — from initial discovery and pilot through full global rollout.
Define and document best practices that will shape how future customer deployments are approached.
What We're Looking For
3+ years writing production code daily, or equivalent experience as a founding engineer who shipped customer-facing work — recent graduates with a strong technical trajectory and shipped projects will also be considered.
Full-stack software engineering fundamentals: capable of shipping end-to-end applications solo (frontend, backend, deployment).
Demonstrated ability to take ownership of outcomes and solve problems independently with minimal direction.
Experience working directly with customers or stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
Background from high-performance engineering or delivery environments (e.g., top-tier tech companies with a delivery focus, fast-paced startups, or strategy/technical consulting with hands-on delivery).
Comfortable in a high-intensity, fast-iteration environment with long hours and novel problems.
Strong communication skills — able to engage clearly and credibly with enterprise customers.
Authorised to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
Nice to have: Prior experience as a founder or founding engineer; combined background across engineering and another function (sales, growth, product management); degree from a top-tier university.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary: $150,000 – $225,000 USD annually. Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
Location
On-site in San Francisco, CA or New York, NY. Candidates must be willing and able to work on-site.
