Founding Engineer

About the Role

This is a founding engineering role at an early-stage B2B SaaS company building a headcount planning platform for enterprise teams. You'll work directly alongside the founders and early customers to shape the product from the ground up — owning everything from technical design to production delivery.

What You'll Do

• Ship and iterate quickly while making thoughtful trade-offs between speed and quality.

• Collaborate with the founding team to design the best solutions for customer problems.

• Interact directly with customers to diagnose and resolve product issues.

• Own large parts of the product end-to-end, from technical design through to production.

• Wear multiple hats across engineering, product, and customer support as needed.

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of experience building products as a software engineer, ideally at a VC-backed startup, as a founding/early engineer, or owning zero-to-one projects at a larger company.

• Strong proficiency in TypeScript; ability to pick up new stacks quickly.

• Demonstrated expertise in systems design and data modeling.

• Strong CS fundamentals; a degree in Computer Science or Engineering is expected.

• Product and user empathy — thinking beyond code to how users interact with data.

• Proven initiative: owning and delivering projects outside a formal roadmap, or building impressive side projects.

• Comfortable working in a small team and operating across engineering, product, and support functions.

• Experience working directly with customers or cross-functional teams to shape product decisions is a plus.

• Background in B2B software, particularly HR or Finance domains, is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary: $150,000 – $200,000 USD annually. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Location

On-site in Los Angeles, CA. Candidates should be based in or able to relocate to the Los Angeles area.
