About the Role

This is a mid-level M&A Associate Attorney opportunity within a world-class corporate practice at a large full-service international law firm. You'll work on high-profile domestic and cross-border transactions for Fortune 500 companies, private equity firms, and investment banks — with substantive responsibility and direct client exposure from day one.

What You'll Do

  • Handle domestic and cross-border M&A transactions on both the buy-side and sell-side.

  • Advise on complex structural and corporate matters including acquisitions, divestitures, spin-offs, carve-outs, leveraged buyouts, recapitalizations, and tender offers.

  • Draft, negotiate, and manage the execution of transaction documents and deal closing deliverables.

  • Communicate complex legal and transactional matters concisely in both written and oral form to clients and deal teams.

  • Collaborate on lean deal teams with early ownership, taking on increasing levels of responsibility over time.

What We're Looking For

  • 2–6 years of significant M&A and strategic transactions experience at a top-tier law firm (class years 2020–2024).

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school; strong academic credentials (top-quartile performance or law review experience preferred).

  • Active bar license in a U.S. jurisdiction or eligibility to waive into the relevant jurisdiction.

  • Demonstrated experience on buy-side and sell-side deals, with exposure to PE/LBO structures, spin-offs, carve-outs, or cross-border transactions a plus.

  • Excellent legal writing, research, and analytical skills.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for working effectively with partners, colleagues, and clients.

  • Stable career trajectory; must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary range: $235,000 – $390,000 USD annually. Visa sponsorship is not available for this role; candidates must be independently authorized to work in the United States.

Location

This is a hybrid role based in Los Angeles, CA. Office presence is expected approximately 3 days per week. Candidates in or willing to relocate to Los Angeles, San Francisco, or New York will be considered.
