About the Position


This is a West Coast position. The ideal candidate will be located in Los Angeles and will be able to work in the office. However, we will also consider candidates outside of Los Angeles but located on the West Coast or able to work West Coast hours.

We are seeking a patent filing specialist or patent assistant who has at least one year of experience handling a broad range of patent prosecution responsibilities. Qualifications

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 1+ year relevant U.S. patent prosecution experience; foreign experience is a plus

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Experience and familiarity with USPTO patent systems and online IP databases (e.g., Patent Center, Assignment Center, PAIR, EFS-Web, ePCT, Patentscope, Espacenet)

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Proficiency in MS Office and Adobe Acrobat

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Strong attention to detail

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Ability to work independently and under pressure, and stay self-motivated

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Ability to manage deadlines and competing priorities effectively

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Available to work overtime as required

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Bachelor鈥檚 degree or paralegal certificate is a strong plus

Key Responsibilities

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Prepare, file, and report provisional, non-provisional, divisional/continuation and national stage applications.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Prepare, file, and report USPTO documents, including office action responses, amendments, formalities, inventorship corrections, petitions, issue fees, and Information Disclosure Statements (IDS).

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Manage patent prosecution matters from filing through issuance.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Maintain secondary docket, track deadlines, and work closely with patent practitioners to meet deadlines.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Understand and consistently adhere to client-specific guidelines.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Sustain working knowledge of patent rules and procedures.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Assist in other duties/special projects as assigned.
