Dr. Beiyun Zhou’s lab is recruiting a Postdoctoral/Research Associate. Dr. Zhou’s lab is interested in studying the cell and molecular biology of the alveolar epithelium with focus on analysis of alveolar epithelial cell (AEC) differentiation and plasticity in the context of lung injury and fibrosis. The position is for qualified candidates who wish to pursue a career in the basic and translational research of lung disease idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF).Â
Responsibilities and Duties
- Plans, designs, and conducts highly technical and complex research projects independently.
- Conducts cellular and molecular experiments for hypothesis-driven research
- Analyzes, interprets, summarizes and compiles data
- Present research data at lab meetings, scientific conferences, and in peer-reviewed publications under the direction of the Principal Investigator
- Contribute to the preparation of grant applications, progress reports, and manuscripts.
- Stay current with developments in the field and contribute innovative ideas to advance the research program
- Be responsible for teaching techniques to other lab members
- Serves as a project liaison between the lab and its collaborators
- Maintain accurate research records and ensure compliance with institutional, funding agency, and laboratory safety policiesÂ
- Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.    Â
Salary Range:
The annual base salary range for this position is $70,304. When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.“
