2026 Summer Internship
IN PERSON: This internship role is scheduled to be in person. Please be prepared and available to work in person at the following address: 4733 W. Sunset Blvd., Los Angeles, 90027.
Job Summary:

Under supervision assists in the provision of information, maintenance of databases, report production and routine data analysis. Work is reviewed for completeness, accuracy and soundness.

Department Description:

• Graduate Medical Education (GME) manages residencies and fellowships at our medical center. We work closely with them from the time they are hired up until they graduate.
• This summer intern will help with the orientation process from planning the onboarding process of new residents and fellows all the way through the actual day of orientation.
• This individual will help during residency and fellowship orientation that will include clerical work but not limited to food ordering, food delivery, prepare a report using Excel or PowerPoint. Email correspondence using Outlook. Create surveys using Microsoft Forms.
• Dependable, personable, adaptable to change, attention to detail, willing to learn/open to new ideas, focused on the project at hand.
 

Project Description:

* Create and enter statistical data in Excel
* Create documents using Word
* Create reports using PowerPoint
* Create and respond to emails using Outlook
* Assist in ordering and delivering food to residents/fellows
* Assist during resident and fellow orientation (i.e., attendance check, check ID badge prior to resident start to make sure it works, share screen during Zoom and Teams meeting and during orientation, etc.)

Desired Majors:

Computer Science, Business Administration, Human Resources, Finance & Accounting, Math/Statistics, Marketing, Liberal Arts, Education, Public Health, Healthcare Administration, Public Relations and Communications, or Data Science.

Desired Skillsets:

* Experienced of familiarity with Zoom, MS Teams
* Familiarity with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
* Being able to adapt to changes in priorities
* Able to work in a team setting
* Attention to detail 
 


Essential Responsibilities:

Examples of project support include: Collects, prepares and tracks reports and summaries such as: budget to actual expenditures, production statistics, and utilization of services and statistical records of performance. Performs a variety of data collection and analysis assignments. Prepares ad hoc data requests as directed. Prepares and/or formats graphs, spreadsheets and reports by utilizing office software. May be asked to maintain databases on a regular basis by entering data and preparing data extracts. May extract information from different sources to compile data. Executes existing queries for established reports.  Schedules conference calls and meetings. Contributes to the development of presentations materials. Provides administrative and project support as assigned such as copying, filing, entering and extracting data. Engages in and supports project work.  Kaiser Permanente conducts compensation reviews of positions on a routine basis.
