Description

Quality Assurance Inspector - CMM/Vision Systems

As an AS9100D certified company, Allan Aircraft requires all employees to conform to AS9100D clauses specific to their departmental responsibilities. For a more departmental breakdown of these responsibilities, please see form AAH-1.1.


Location: North Hollywood, CA

Reports To: Assistant Quality Assurance Manager

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt, hourly 


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform detailed inspections of precision-machined components to ensure conformance with engineering drawings, customer specifications, and applicable quality standards.
  • Interpret and apply GD&T, engineering drawings, machining processes, and inspection requirements to accurately evaluate product conformity.
  • Program, operate, and maintain digital inspection and vision measurement equipment, including Keyence IM/VR Series, Oasis Vision Systems, Fowler F60T, or similar systems.
  • Develop, validate, and optimize inspection programs to ensure accurate and repeatable measurement results.
  • Analyze measurement data, document inspection results, and maintain accurate quality and traceability records in accordance with aerospace requirements.
  • Identify, document, and communicate nonconforming conditions and assist with determining appropriate corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with machinists, engineers, and Quality personnel to resolve inspection issues and support continuous process improvement.
  • Verify product compliance prior to release and ensure only conforming products proceed to the next stage of production or shipment.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Requirements

Competencies, Experience, and Education:

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret Quality Assurance Workflows, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and customers.
  • Ability to apply metric and conversion mathematical concepts. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.

  • Associate’s Degree (preferred, but not required) from a two-year college and/or completed courses related to Quality Assurance or a minimum of four (4) years of experience in a senior quality assurance role in an aerospace environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.



Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
