Company Description

The Quality Manager reports directly to the General Manager. This pivotal leader will build and sustain our AS9100 Quality Management System (QMS) from scratch and maintain our NADCAP chemical processing accredidation. You will drive continuous improvement, oversee aerospace compliance, and mentor our inspection teams.

Job Description

  • Lead and improve quality systems (AS9100 deployment & maintain NADCAP accreditation).
  • Maintained seamless communication and alignment between internal operational teams and external aerospace client quality leadership.
  • Supervised, mentored, and upskilled an inspection team managing receiving, in-process, and final inspection workflows to ensure total compliance.
  • Ability to build, implement, and sustain a Quality Management System (QMS) from scratch, specifically AS9100 compliant.
  • Experience in creating and managing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
  • Lead NADCAP and AS9100 audits with documentation, calibration, and procedure adherence.
  • Drive quantifiable results (e.g., reduced scrap, improved first pass yield, successful audit outcomes.
  • Facilitated operational risk management programs utilizing PFMEAs, SWOT analysis, and centralized risk registers to proactively mitigate production defects.
  • Establish, track, and report on critical quality KPIs to align manufacturing 
  • Drive CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions), CARs (Corrective Action Requests), SCARs (Supplier Corrective Action Requests), and NCR (Non-Conformance Report) systems to isolate product non-conformances and prevent recurrence.
  • Identify root causes and measure the effectiveness of corrective actions.
  • Collect and analyze quality and process data to identify defect trends and process improvements.
  • Use of tools to ensure customer specifications: Outer Diameter (OD) Outside Micrometers
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings for plating compliance and inspect the quality of finished parts. 

Qualifications

  • BA in business administration or equivalent experience 
  • 5+ years of leadership, mentoring, and training direct reports 
  • 5+ years in aerospace electroplating quality management or similar service aerospace role
  • Knowledge of Hard Chrome, TDC, Cadmium, Copper, and Electroless Nickel plating processes.
  • Proficiency in inspection, NDT (MPI & DPI), and measurement systems.
  • Experienced with NADCAP audits; capable of AS9100 system implementation.
  • Leadership experience mentoring inspection teams (5–10 inspectors).
  • Strong technical documentation skills (NCRs, dispositions, procedures).
  • Proficiency in Steel Core ERP and Power BI (or similar analytics tools).
  • US Citizenship required (for compliance with aerospace client contracts).
