Respiratory Supervisor - Full Time, Days (Hollywood) - 11494

Position Summary

The Supervisor of Respiratory Therapy is responsible for the day-to-day clinical and operational oversight of the Respiratory Therapy Department under the direction of the Director/Manager of Respiratory Therapy. Assists in ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality respiratory care services in compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and evidence-based practice.

The Supervisor coordinates staffing assignments, assists with scheduling, monitors departmental workflow, and supports quality improvement initiatives. Promotes collaboration among interdisciplinary teams to ensure efficient patient care delivery and departmental operations. Provides leadership, education, mentoring, and support to respiratory therapy staff while serving as a clinical resource and role model.

Responsible for assisting with employee coaching, orientation, competency assessments, and performance improvement activities.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of five (5) years of respiratory care experience with at least three (3) years in a lead or supervisory role preferred
• Current Licensure as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) in the State of California
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
• Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Current AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
• Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
• Ability to effectively prioritize tasks and manage workflow
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree preferred
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) preferred
• Previous acute care supervisory experience preferred

Essential Job Functions/Major Areas of Responsibility

• Supervises the daily operations of the Respiratory Therapy Department during assigned shifts
• Coordinates staffing assignments and patient care coverage to ensure safe and efficient operations
• Assists with maintaining departmental compliance with regulatory, accreditation, infection prevention, and safety standards
• Monitors respiratory therapy practices to ensure compliance with hospital policies and evidence-based standards of care
• Oversees proper operation, maintenance, and documentation of respiratory and ABG equipment
• Functions as a clinical resource for respiratory therapy staff and other healthcare team members
• Assists with orientation, training, mentoring, and competency assessment of respiratory therapy staff
• Provides coaching and constructive feedback to staff to promote professional development and accountability
• Participates in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives
• Collaborates with physicians, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care
  

Pay Rate: Min - $99,300 l Max - $151,200
