Job DetailsJob Location: Oakwood School - Secondary School, North Hollywood - North Hollywood, CA 91601Position Type: Full TimeEducation Level: 4 Year DegreeSalary Range: $74,518.00 - $92,154.00 Salary DESCRIPTION The Secondary School Science Teacher is responsible for teaching various classes of science to grades 7th-12th. Teaching assignments may include Biology courses with the flexibility to teach multiple levels and additional science subjects beyond Biology. The teacher will collaborate with other members of the department on implementing curriculum and assessments.  Other responsibilities include attending department and faculty meetings, other meetings as needed for student support, and additional roles outside of the classroom for campus involvement.   KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Collaborates with other members of the department in preparing lessons and lab investigations for teaching and learning in alignment with Oakwood’s mission and philosophy. Works closely with students to help them develop critical thinking and science research skills. Evaluates student progress through a variety of modes of assessment. Keeps student records, including online grades. Implements a wide array of classroom activities to address multiple learning styles. Communicates regularly with student-support team members: parents, other teachers, student services, deans, and other administrators. Provides ongoing student feedback, both informal and formal, including written narrative evaluations. Meets with students and families as needed. Treats students equitably, is sincerely interested in them as individuals, and responds to their needs. Actively engages in the life of the school. Reasonable accommodations may be made.  Qualifications REQUIREMENTS Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 3+ years of Science teaching experience required.
