The Senior Associate will oversee and manage the identification, evaluation, negotiation, and acquisition of institutional-quality neighborhood retail and mixed-use assets located in various markets across the United States. The Senior Associate will oversee financial structuring and analysis and manage the due diligence and closing processes for prospective investment opportunities. They will work in a team-oriented, fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and high-performance environment in our LA Regional office alongside our West Coast Execution Team. Duties include:Â
- Source new acquisitions by building and maintaining strong relationships with external stakeholders, including brokers, sellers, Â Â developers, and potential joint venture partners
- Negotiate purchase and sale agreements and manage third-party legal for transaction workÂ
- Provide analytics, research, and modeling support to refine underwriting and business plan assumptions for acquisitions and dispositions in various markets across the United States
- Collaborate with execution teams and junior acquisition professionals, providing deal specific underwriting guidanceÂ
- Oversee the due diligence and closing processes for prospective transactionsÂ
- Lead preparation and presentation of investment committee memorandums in relation to proposed transactionsÂ
- Monitor and analyze key economic and demographic trends in target markets and submarkets
Requirements
- 5-7+ years’ experience in real estate investments, asset management, or capital markets
- Proven track record of successful real estate acquisitions, negotiations and deal structuring
- Deep understanding of and experience with real estate acquisitions and principal ownership
- Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with the ability to influence and motivate cross-functional teams as well as foster the development of junior employees
- Strong negotiation, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated track record of interpersonal relationship developmentÂ
- Excellence in financial analysis and ability to synthesize ideas to Senior Management; Advanced Excel modeling experience requiredÂ
- Strong work ethic, self-motivated, and capable of effective independent judgmentÂ
- Unwavering compliance with deadlines
- Acute attention to detail and passion for quality and excellence
- Strong organizational and process skills to manage multiple competing priorities
