Position Overview

Management reserves the right to assign additional responsibilities as needed, and duties may change based on business needs. We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Payroll Manager to oversee and manage all aspects of payroll operations for a workforce of 500+ employees. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and maintaining payroll best practices across multiple locations.The Senior Payroll Manager works in close partnership with the Human Resources Department, Finance, and Operations to ensure the accuracy of employee data, compensation changes, leave administration, benefits deductions, compliance requirements, and payroll reporting.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage full-cycle payroll processing for 500+ employees on a bi-weekly basis.
  • Process multi-state payroll while ensuring compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local wage and hour laws.
  • Oversee payroll tax filings, reporting, reconciliations, quarter-end and year-end processing.
  • Administer employee deductions, garnishments, benefits, wage assignments, and other payroll-related transactions.
  • Review, audit, and process meal and rest period premium payments and labor compliance violations.
  • Generate, analyze, and distribute payroll reports to Human Resources, Finance, and senior leadership.
  • Partner closely with Human Resources to ensure accurate processing of new hires, terminations, pay rate changes, promotions, leaves of absence, benefits, and employee status changes.
  • Ensure payroll records are maintained in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Support internal and external payroll audits and recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.
  • Serve as the primary payroll subject matter expert and point of contact for payroll-related inquiries.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 7+ years of progressive payroll experience, including leadership or management responsibilities.
  • Experience processing payroll for 500+ employees.
  • Extensive knowledge of multi-state payroll processing, payroll tax regulations, wage and hour laws, and labor compliance requirements.
  • Experience managing payroll deductions, garnishments, reconciliations, audits, and reporting.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and payroll reporting.
  • Advanced ADP Workforce Now Payroll experience required.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English required, with strong verbal and written communication skills in both languages.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with Human Resources, Finance, and Operations in a fast-paced environment.


Physical Requirements:

  1. The ability to lift up 25 pounds regularly & un-assisted
  2. The ability to respond quickly to sounds
  3. The ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces
  4. The ability to safely climb ladders
