Job Description: 

 

We are seeking a Specialist, Manufacturing Engineering (1st Shift) with a focus in Welding to join our Manufacturing team in Canoga Park, CA.

 

At our Canoga Park, CA (Los Angeles area) facility, we design & manufacture rocket engines and unique power systems that support space exploration & the defense of our nation such as NASA’s SLS, Lockheed Martin’s THAAD, Sierra Nevada’s Dream Chaser, and the Mars Perseverance Rover.

 

Essential Functions:

 

  • Troubleshoot critical weldments ensuring best practices for weld fit-up, cleanliness requirements and weld parameters are followed
  • Document best practices to support production
  • Assist with root cause analysis and disposition discrepant hardware
  • Accurately report problems, solutions, and results
  • Communicate effectively between team members and customer counterparts

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Requires practical knowledge of welding and general fabrication. Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, min of 8 years of prior related experience.

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

 

  • Previous experience E.B welding, manual, In-Place-Tube and/or Automatic GTAW
  • Experience working with Torch Weld Jigs (TWJ), setting weldments up for exact shrinkages to fit TWJ post weld
  • Experience with weld, braze and assemblies’ specifications
  • Working with D17.1 or Journeyman Weld certifications
  • Moving large structures or hardware

 

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in the State of California is $84,000 - $156,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
