Job Description:

THE ROLE
Deutsch is looking for a chronically online Strategy Director, Social to help shape an iconic brand’s presence across paid and owned social tactics. This means thinking beyond campaigns – proactively finding ways to keep the brand relevant in the feed and in culture.

This brand has a distinctive & successful voice and persona in social – with a high bar to keep it that way. Your job will be protecting that edge while continuing to evolve it with the next generation of social best practices and emergent social behaviors. You will work as a unit with the client social team, creatives, & partners – deeply embedded & collaborating to bring a shared vision to life.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Uphold the Social Persona
Be the ultimate filter for all ideas and tactics on social to maintain consistency of voice
Refine work with creatives using the brand persona as a north star
Shape the Creative Output
Be a creative partner pushing the work to be social-first in practice – not just in theory
Join social productions with an eye for following best practices & brand guidelines
Own Social Thought-Leadership
Be on the cutting edge of what’s happening across platforms & trends relevant to the brand
Share always-on thought-leadership and proactive thinking on ways for the brand to activate
Help raise the bar through thoughtful pushes on experimentation and evolutions
Own a clear POV on social, not just recycling others’ best practices

Lead the Team
Be a hands-on partner across disciplines & partners (media, influencers, etc.)
Build direct relationships with clients as their partner in points of view they can rely on
Push social as a priority across everything we do – not just social briefs
Be proactive in leading projects & next steps – not just reacting to direct client asks

Champion Performance
Be a source of truth for what we know works & what doesn’t
Be hungry about pushing boundaries to unlock new success
Define success across brand & business metrics to create accountability across the work
Use data, social listening, & partnerships with media to track performance over time

WHO YOU ARE
You truly love living in social – with strong instincts for what works and why
You are the first of your friends and colleagues to try out new platforms
You aren’t afraid to get your hands dirty in content creation, giving you an edge in understanding creative concepts & what’s possible in platforms
You have a proven track record of working with iconic brands on social-first campaigns
You are culturally obsessed with a finger on the pulse of what’s relevant
You care about making brands feel like real participants – not observers or followers
You’re collaborative, direct, and comfortable making decisions in a fast-moving environment
You balance taste with discipline – knowing when to trust your gut & when to rely on data
You have infectious passion for social that you bring to all teammates
