VCA Animal Specialty Group is a busy 24-hour emergency and specialty hospital in Los Angeles, approximately 10 minutes from Downtown LA!

Location: 4641 Colorado Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90039

Schedule: 40 hours, 2 pm-12:30 am, 4 days, 10-hour shift

Salary: $ 30 - $ 38 / hour

* Compensation dependent on experience, schedule, and position

We are looking for a highly experienced Registered Veterinary Technician, or those who qualify for the VTNE, with strong skills and knowledge in Specialty Surgery, ICU, ER, and Anesthesia for critical emergency surgery intake, stabilization, surgery, and recovery to post care.    

Requirements for positions on our teams:

  • Proficient in emergency and anesthesia

  • Valid RVT license or be VTNE eligible

Strong skills and knowledge of the following:

  • IVC placement

  • Venipuncture and U/S guided cystos

  • Radiographs (spinal, thorax, abdomen, extremities, etc.)

  • Anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery for stable and critical Emergency and Neurology patients

  • Anesthesia for advanced imaging (MRIs/CTs) and neurosurgeries

  • Ventilators

  • Triage and Patient Treatments

  • Calculating and preparing medications for administration (including boluses, CRIs, and blood transfusions)

  • Preparation and assisting for minor and major surgeries

  • Process in-house and outside labs

  • Restrain for exams and diagnostics
