Job Description

Kayne Anderson Rudnick, headquartered in Los Angeles, is a well-respected wealth and asset management firm that manages around $60 billion in assets and employs more than 135 people across the United States. Established in 1984, KAR began by managing John Anderson’s family assets but gradually expanded its services to include relatives, friends, and eventually a wide range of clients—including high net-worth individuals, public organizations, corporations, endowments, and foundations. KAR’s internship program is an opportunity for top students to gain relevant work experience in various aspects of the Financial Services industry.  The program offers interns challenging and meaningful work that allows them to demonstrate their abilities, apply knowledge acquired through college courses, and be evaluated for future employment opportunities within the Company.  Our internships create opportunities for interns to establish important relationships with experienced professionals.

We are seeking a motivated undergraduate student to join our Wealth Advisory Client Service team for a summer internship. This role offers hands-on exposure to the day-to-day operations of a leading Registered Investment Advisor and a unique opportunity to gain insight into the world of advising and supporting high-net-worth clients. This opportunity will be 8-10 weeks and will be in our Los Angeles office.

This internship is ideal for students interested in careers in wealth management, financial advisory, client service, or financial services more broadly.

What You’ll Learn & Experience:

  • How a large, independent RIA partners with high-net-worth clients to manage wealth across generations
  • The role client service plays in supporting financial advisors and maintaining exceptional client relationships
  • Exposure to portfolio reporting, account administration, and client onboarding processes
  • Insight into investment management, financial planning, and advisory team collaboration

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Client Service and Wealth Advisory teams with daily operational and administrative tasks
  • Assist with client onboarding, account maintenance, and documentation preparation
  • Help prepare client meeting materials, reports, and presentations
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure a high standard of client service
  • Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and special projects

Ideal Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree (rising junior or senior preferred)
  • Strong interest in wealth management, finance, economics, business, or a related field
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Professional demeanor and commitment to confidentiality
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); experience with financial tools a plus

The hourly pay will be $25.00. This position is not eligible for benefits or incentive compensation.
