We believe architecture is more than designing buildings, it’s about providing solutions to societal challenges and creating stronger, more vibrant communities. As part of our Architecture practice at HDR, you’ll contribute to the design and delivery of spaces and experiences that advance community well-being around the world. From healing environments and learning spaces to research labs and civic landmarks and infrastructure, your work will directly influence how individuals experience the world around them. We bring together architects, planners, designers, and technical experts to solve complex design challenges with creativity, curiosity, and collaboration. From championing design excellence with an emphasis on resilience and sustainability to pioneering innovative building technologies, your contributions will leave a lasting impact on the built environment. In the role of Landscape Architecture Design Intern:

Support project teams with drafting, modeling, and visualization using tools such as AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, LandFX, Revit, or other design software.
Assist in developing concept designs, plans, sections, diagrams, and renderings for urban, civic, and landscape architecture projects.
Conduct site analysis, research, and precedent studies to support early-stage project development.
Contribute to the preparation of presentations, reports, and graphics for internal reviews and client deliverables.
Participate in team meetings, design charrettes, and coordination efforts with project partners.
Provide general project support, such as organizing materials, refining drawings, and maintaining file standards.

Preferred Qualifications

Currently enrolled in a Landscape Architecture program (BLA, BSLA, MLA) or related design field.
Strong graphic communication skills, including hand sketching and digital representation.
Knowledge of plant materials, grading, and site design fundamentals is a plus.
Strong attention to detail, organization, and willingness to learn.
Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative team environment.
Proficiency in design software such as: Revit (+Environment), AutoCAD (+LandFX), Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign), and GIS tools

Required Qualifications

Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program
Attention to detail
Must possess strong problem-solving and communication skills
Basic Microsoft Office skills
An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
