We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Manufacturing Expeditor to join our team. The Manufacturing Expeditor plays a crucial role in ensuring smooth operations by expediting the flow of materials between various departments within our manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of production processes, exceptional organizational skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.This role requires full-time, onsite support at our Chatsworth facility to effectively support shipping and warehouse operations.
Responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to:
Coordinate with production planners, procurement team, and warehouse staff to prioritize and expedite the flow of materials and components needed for production.
Monitor inventory levels and production schedules to identify potential bottlenecks or delays.
Expedite urgent orders or critical materials to meet production deadlines.
Communicate effectively with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and resolve any issues that may arise.
Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, production schedules, and material movements.
Collaborate with production managers and supervisors to optimize workflow and minimize downtime.
Participate in continuous improvement and team building activities.
Ensure compliance with company policies and safety standards at all times.
Proficient in use of basic hand tools and machines including but not limited to (non/ powered) screw drivers
Assemble, modify, and rework production components / sub-assemblies utilizing process documentation (drawings) and Bill of Materials.
Maintains productive working relationships with all team members.
Performs other duties as assigned by manager with minimal supervision.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a role involving material coordination or expediting.
Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and supply chain management.
Excellent organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Proficient computer skills, including experience with ERP systems and MS Office Suite.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
Attention to detail and a proactive problem-solving approach.
High school diploma or equivalent; additional qualifications in supply chain management or a related field are a plus. Minimum ONE (1) year assembly and expediting experience necessary; Two (2) years’ experience preferred.
