The Trainee will be hired to participate in the Genesis Academy Trainee Program and upon successful completion transition into a full-time Analyst or Associate position.
The Genesis Academy Training Program is a six‑month rotational program for college graduates. From day one, the Trainee will join Genesis as a full‑time employee, rotating across key areas of the business, taking on meaningful responsibilities, and gaining real deal experience. The Trainee role is designed to develop foundational skills in loan operations, credit analysis, collateral evaluation, and workflow management. Genesis Academy Trainee Program offers hands‑on exposure to end‑to‑end real estate lending workflows, underwriting fundamentals, and cross‑functional collaboration with sales, valuations, construction, and compliance teams.
Principal Duties:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Support operations team with file organization, compliance checks, and coordination of loan processing tasks.
- Learn how to evaluate borrower credit history and identify potential risk indicators.
- Learn how to analyze renovation budgets, market comparables, and exit strategies for real estate projects.
- Learn how to perform a data review of borrower financials, experience, and collateral documentation.
- Gain exposure to reviewing appraisals and market analysis.
- Â Participate in underwriting and pipeline meetings to observe how eligibility, risk, and deal structure decisions are made.
- Support borrower, broker and client acquisition outreach.
- Learn how underwriting interacts with credit, operations, lending, and legal teams to maintain workflow efficiency.
- Gain hands-on experience inputting underwriting and loan data into internal systems (LOS and workflow platforms).
- Assist with track loan pipeline stages and support communication between departments to ensure deadlines are met.
- Support operations team with file organization, compliance checks, and coordination of loan processing tasks.
- Performs related duties as assigned by management.

- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, real estate, or related field required.

- Proficiency with Excel and ability to learn loan origination systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
